Kalaivalarmani Smt. B.Srimathi Venkat


Guru Smt.Srimathi Venkat has started learning Bharathanatyam at the tender age of 5 years as the disciple of Guru (Late) Kalaimamani Smt. K J Sarasa. Her Arangetram was performed under the auspices of M/S Karthik Fine Arts at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan at Chennai on 25th May 1995 under the chairmanship of (Late) Silambu Selvar Dr. Ma. Po. Sivagnanam, (Late) Sri. T. S. Parthasarathy former member Sahithya Academy and dance critic. She was lauded as having keen interest in learning and performing Bharathanatyam at the early age of 11 years and visualized a great future.

Accomplishments

  • Passed Tamil Nadu Govt. Technical Exams in Bharathanatyam in First class in both Lower & Higher Grades. Govt. of Tamil Nadu certified Bharathanatyam artist.
  • Graded artist in Doordarshan.
  • More than 100 performances given all over India.
  • Awarded as “Best Dancer” in Coimbatore region in getting First prize in inter school Bharathanatyam competitions consecutively for Five years.
  • Performances given in many famous Sabhas in and around Chennai, Coimbatore and Rameshwaram.
  • Performances given in Televisions like Star Vijay, Doordarshan and Sun TV.
  • Established Sri Nrithyalaya – School of Bharathanatyam in Chennai where more than 70 students are getting trained in this traditional art.
  • Post Graduate in Management Studies from ICFAI Business School.
